Motor City Machine Girls Lacrosse
WELCOME TO THE MOTOR CITY MACHINE!
OUR LACROSSE CLUB IS FOR GIRLS ONLY AND IS FOCUSED ON HAVING FUN AS WE BUILD A FOUNDATION THAT WILL PREPARE OUR PLAYERS FOR HIGH SCHOOL LACROSSE AND BEYOND. BY PROVIDING A FAMILY-FRIENDLY CLUB THAT COMBINES LOCAL TRAINING WITH REGIONAL COMPETITION, WE HOPE TO PROVIDE OUR PLAYERS WITH A GREAT MEANS TO DEVELOP AS LACROSSE PLAYERS AND FRIENDS.
WE ARE CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR PLAYERS IN GRADES 4-7 FOR THE 2019 SEASON WHO ARE INTERESTED IN PLAYING IN THE SPRING, SUMMER AND FALL SEASONS. OUR GOAL IS TO DEVELOP A 5-6TH AND 7-8TH GRADE TEAM IN 2020.
WINTER TRAINING BEGINS IN JANUARY!
All beginning and experienced players interested in joining the team are encouraged to sign-up for winter training which begins January 20th and will run through the end of March. Training is held at the Premier Sports Center (23 Mile, W. of Hayes Rd.). New or experienced players may enter the training at any time via the below link to receive a pro-rated registration for the remaining weeks. The training is hosted by our coaching staff with youth and high school coaching and collegiate playing experience. The one-hour sessions are a great introduction to the sport, our spring team players and our spring coaches.
SPRING SEASON IS ALMOST HERE! THE FOLLOWING INFO WILL HELP FAMILIES PLAN FOR THE SEASON:
Practices: We are planning to host 3 practices/week which will include weekend morning/afternoons and weekday evenings. Our schedule will be mostly complete by the end of February.
Indoor practices will be held at the Premier Sports Center in Shelby on weekends with times T.B.D. We will play indoors until our outdoor field is playable and conditions permit in mid to late April. Our past coaching experience over the last 15 years tells us that learning lacrosse while fighting the elements does not make for productive time together.
Once weather conditions permit and the outdoor fields are playable, we will be playing at Iroquois Middle School on Romeo Plank Road, south of 22 Mile Road. Our alternate field will be at Macomb Town Center which is located on the south side of 25 Mile Road, west of Broughton Rd. (behind Suburban Ice Arena).
Games: We have contacted youth teams throughout SE Michigan and beyond and will be assembling some game and tournament dates for our teams on weekends whenever possible. Families should plan on potential travel to destinations as far as Grand Rapids, Lansing, Oxford and other west side locations for tournament play where we can get multiple games in a day. We will look to host round-robin events at our own field to minimize travel in the spring.
Registration: In order to reserve your player’s spot on our team, a downloadable pdf document is available here for your completion and return: 2019 Machine Spring Lax Registration Packet
Summer – Fall Tournament Play: All spring players and players with at least one season of experience will be invited to sign-up for our summer and fall tournament seasons. We will plan to attend 2-3 local tournament events in Ohio and Michigan with a light practice schedule so families can enjoy their summer while keeping our lacrosse momentum going.
